Online dating could be the way forward for single soldiers in search of romance as the medium has brought many couples together, it has been suggested.

Writing for the Financial Times, Emma Jacobs noted the method has experienced "huge expansion" in recent years.

The journalist added this bulging popularity has removed any stigma associated with looking for love on the web.

Ms Jacobs cited Julie Ferman, a matchmaker from Los Angeles, who reiterated her point.

The expert stated the web has been a positive tool for creating partnerships.

"Everyone knows someone who met someone online. Internet dating brought dating into the public mind," Ms Ferman explained.

She added this is proof that lots of individuals have tried the practice.

Reporting for OneIndia, Sruthi Appu recently advised men approaching the world of online interaction to allow relationships found through the keyboard sufficient time to develop and to make sure they are well-dressed when meeting in person.
