A Royal Marine never really stops being a Royal Marine. Such is the case of Mathew Disney, a former Commando who doubles as an elite fitness enthusiast and global adventurer.

Disney has been taking on fitness challenges for charity for a while now. And in 2019 he is looking to break his own records by taking on a challenge that will really help him test his limits. The former Marine will be spending three days trying to become the World’ First person to summit Mont Blanc, and then rowing the height in distance.

The former soldier and current superhuman has completed four other charity fitness challenges, completing them all in splendid fashion. From running 100 sprints at max speed on the treadmill to climbing the height of Everest in sub 9 hours, there isn’t a challenge the man shies away from. He’s even run 81 miles straight through the heart of Storm Hannah – and he didn’t even do it alone, he made a party out of it by running with three other veteran Marines.

The year has been peppered with all kinds of challenges for Disney, where he’s pushed the limits for himself and helped raise funds for some good causes as he did it. Once he finishes all the challenges that he’s planned he will be splitting all money raised between two charities, i.e. Rock2Recovery and The Royal Marines Charity. The first helps soldiers, both current and former, who are suffering with PTSD and suicidal tendencies, while the second helps service personnel and veterans get back on their feet in harsh times.

Men like Disney show us that soldiers never really stop fighting. When they are in the field the fight the enemy and once they exit the field, they keep fighting for what’s important.
