A concert and act of remembrance is being held on the Isle of Man for the Royal British Legion's 90th anniversary.

The armed forces charity has been helping current and ex-servicemen and women since the early part of the 19th century and in recognition of this, an event named the Angel and The Fallen will take place, the Isle of Man Today reports.

It was inspired by a memorial in Northern France and Dr John Bethel – alongside the Right Reverend Robert Paterson – will be the musical directors.

As well as this, a drama called Journey's End that follows frontline World War One soldiers will be performed.

The Royal British Legion is perhaps best known for its poppy appeal, which raised £36 million in 2010.

This year, the organisation is hoping to top the £40 million barrier for the first time and the campaign has been launched today (October 27th).
