At this point one must stop and ask if there’s anything our army isn’t doing to keep us safe. The latest news is that our superheroes have come up with a disinfectant spray that can kill SARS-CoV-2 in 99.99% of the cases.

Around 50,000 bottles of Virusend, the spray in question, are being used by military personnel that are helping the NHS through different anti-Covid activities.

The product is the result of a collaboration between the British Army and InnovateUK. The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LTSM) was put to the task by the army to test the spray. The National Institute for Health Research has also been a guiding force for the efforts.

It takes just a minute for it to attack most traces of the virus.

Dr Grant Hughes from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine said: “Our tests show this product is highly effective at reducing SARS-CoV-2. This significant reduction is seen within one minute of contact with the virus, meaning Virusend is highly effective at inactivating SARS-CoV-2.”

Michael Pritchard MBE, CEO Pritchard Spray Technology Ltd who developed the bottle said that the spray would help shape the way pandemics are addressed.

“This pioneering spray will change the way we combat this and all future pandemics. This has been a truly unique collaboration that showcases what we the United Kingdom can achieve,” he said.

The spray is fairly easy to use and can be acquired for just £7.99.
