Everyone in the US has been talking about the fact that Barack Obama has been re-elected as the president.
However, one woman in particular went out of her way to make sure she cast her vote for the incumbent.
Galicia Malone shocked her local polling station in Dolton, Illinois, when she turned up to mark down her preference, as she was in labour at the time.
The excited 21-year-old told Chicago's WBBM radio: "I never voted before so this made a major difference in my life and I wanted this to be a stepping-stone for my daughter."
Amazingly, Ms Malone's contractions were only five minutes apart, but she was sure that nothing would stop her from voting for Obama.
Polling station manager David Orr paid tribute to the determination of the young lady, adding that she is setting a great example for future generations about how important it is to take part in elections.
