Choosing the healthy option in the supermarket is usually a good idea.
However, a mother of three got more than she bargained for after buying a mixed salad bag from Waitrose.
As Christina Carrington was preparing dinner with her youngest daughter, they made the shocking discovery that there was a frog in the lettuce.
What makes the situation even worse is that fact that Ms Carrington had already munched some of the salad leaves earlier in the day.
"I'm absolutely mortified to think I ate the leaves at lunch time when clearly the frog had been in the same bag," she added.
Unsurprisingly, Waitrose were swift to apologise for the isolated incident and said measures are being introduced to make sure the problem doesn't happen again.
It is not known how the frog was able to stay alive despite being in the closed bag for over 24 hours, but I'm sure the Carringtons will be steering clear of salads for a while!
