Woman angry over worm found in chicken slice

A woman has revealed her horror at finding a worm in a chicken tikka slice she bought from Iceland.

Kathy Thompson decided to tuck into the spicy snack after bringing it home from the store, only to find a worm on her plate.

She told how she had been chewing on the food when she suddenly realised there was a worm on her plate, leading her to spit everything out of her mouth.

"I spent the night retching and it was like I could feel it crawling in my stomach whenever I thought about it. I have another packet of the slices in my freezer but I don't want to even touch them now," Ms Thompson explained.

A spokesman for Iceland confirmed the company is looking into the incident and that Ms Thompson has returned the item to the store she bought it from so that more thorough checks can be made.
