Help for Heroes (H4H) has been given a boost after a whisky firm in Scotland presented it with a donation of £15,000.

The Edinburgh Reporter has told how Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, which is owned by Ian Macleod Distillers, worked to raise funds through two key events.

It arranged the Auld Enemy Dinner – an annual event that takes place to coincide with the Calcutta Cup – and the Auld Enemy Golf Day between Scotland and England at St Andrews.

Each of the functions were organised alongside 1879 Events and took place in 2012, with the total cash raised recently being handed over to the charity.

UK sales manager at Ian Macleod Distillers Alan Wardrop was on hand to present the cheque to Major Tim Grantham, who was appearing on behalf of H4H.

It will now be able to use the money to help servicemen who have been injured in combat.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801538048-ADNFCR
