Catching a baseball hit at pace off the bat takes a great amount of skill, so you would have thought that something a little larger might be a bit easier.
However, one unfortunate player in Missouri could do with working on his technique after he was knocked out by a falling skydiver.
The aerial performer was landing to deliver the first pitch ahead of a game between Hannibal Cavemen and the Terre Haute Rex when he botched up his approach and collided with shortstop Mattingly Romanin.
Team doctors rushed onto the pitch to aid the baseball player, as the skydiver got up from the ground seemingly uninjured after his interrupted descent.
Romanin later took to Twitter to joke about incident, telling his followers: "I feel like I got kicked in the face yesterday, oh wait…"
With a wound near his right eye, Romanin got off lightly, but bemoaned the fact that his Oakley sunglasses did not survive the crash landing.
