A team of volunteers in Bexley raised more than £3,000 for Help for Heroes after taking part in a special truck pulling contest.
This is Local London has told how the team of 24 individuals dragged a 32-tonne army truck for two miles in a bid to raise cash for the military charity.
It took more than an hour to complete the task and more than 200 people turned up to watch, with some £3,145 generated for the charity in the process.
Organiser and truck puller Barry Saunders said: "It was mega hard, much more difficult than I thought it was going to be. It had us a bit at times and it was a mission but we got through it."
Local police, fire and ambulance services were also in attendance at the unique event with recruitment stands as part of an effort to attract more people to their trades.
