Getting a ticket is something all of us drivers dread, but it appears traffic wardens in Vietnam are determined to make sure every offender is punished.

Nguyen Manh Phan ensured a bus driver in Hanoi paid his fine by clinging on to the front of the vehicle as it sped down a busy road.

The amazing incident was caught on camera and showed the traffic cop dangling from the 39-seater's windscreen wipers as passing drivers beeped their horns and looked on in astonishment.

It later emerged the offending driver, named Phung Hong Phuong, had refused to pay a parking ticket and bombed along the road until being pulled over by chasing police cars.

He could now face up to three years in prison after already serving a previous term for being involved in a fatal motoring accident.

Drivers in Vietnam might now think twice before trying to escape punishment on the road – especially if Mr Phan is the man on duty!
