A man from the north-west and his nephew will undertake the gruelling Three Peaks challenge in a bid to raise as much money as possible for Help for Heroes.
Jason and Michael Duckworth are tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks, which involves walking a total of 24 miles while climbing Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, in support of injured and wounded soldiers, reports the Lancashire Telegraph.
The pair are being sponsored to complete the task in no more than 12 hours, adding a further element of difficulty to their day.
Michael Duckworth said: "You hear so much about wounded soldiers and we both feel like they need all the help they can get. I have a disabled son and we've done a lot of fundraising for him."
The relations have already raised in the region of £300 ahead of their big climb, but they hope to increase this total substantially before they get the walk underway on September 14th.
