Tattooathon raises cash for military charity

The Army and Royal Navy have held a tattooathon to raise funds for charity.

All of the money collected will go to the Braveheart Programme, which was set up in 2009 to help veterans struggling with the psychological after effects of being at war.

Two tattoo parlours – one representing each strand of the military – competed to see who could collect the most cash.

Max's Tattoo Studio in Aldershot represented the Army, while the Black Rose Tattoo Parlour supported the Royal Navy.

One of those doing the designs is Max Braveheart, who next year is going to attempt to ink 1,000 people with poppies in 24 hours, according to the Plymouth Herald.

Businesses from around the UK are being encouraged to add one day's takings to the pot to help raise cash for the good cause.

Former MP Martin Bell is the patron of the Braveheart Programme, which focuses on research into Combat Related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
