Troops on the frontline have been pleased to receive a number of moral-boosting packages, it has been revealed.
More than 400 packages have been dispatched to Helmand Province in Afghanistan by the Montrose branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland, the Montrose Review reports.
The boxes have been sent to members of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards and include items such as toiletries, sweets and games that have been donated by the public.
Local shops also helped out with the cause by setting up a number of collection points for participants to drop off their contributions.
Commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Lincoln Jopp commented: "Thank you all so much for the fantastic parcels you have sent to so many of the battalion."
It was recently reported residents of Winchester came out in their masses to show their support for 11 Light Brigade, who were taking part in a homecoming parade in the region.
