This year's annual safari walk for hero soldiers is to take place on May 15th, it has been announced.
The Huntingdon Grafham Water Lions Club event, which has been taking place for the past three decades, will take walkers around Grafham Water in Huntingdon, Peterborough – and participants will be able to help add to the £126,681 already raised by the annual stroll.
Local website About My Area noted that should inflation be taken into account, the cash amount raised for troops would stand at around £214,000.
The walk is ten miles long and is open to individuals and walking teams.
The Lion's Club said that ten per cent of any money raised will be used to help boost the society's donation to Help for Heroes.
In order to take part in the walk for soldiers, teams and individuals need to get a sponsor form from Bernard Dable, who is from the club.
A dance teacher from Ormskirk recently held a dance party in aid of Help for Heroes and raised a total of more than £1,300, the Ormskirk and Skelmersdale Advertiser reported.
