A firm in Leeds has expressed its pride in British troops in a unique way.
Kingfisher Windows has produced a stained-glass look-through in tribute of The Rifles, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.
The item is worth nearly £1,000 but has been made by the company for free.
It features the regiment’s bugle and crown insignia and was handed to Corporals Simon Cook and Jon Chadwick, along with Rifleman Ross Birkinshaw.
They took the cargo by minibus and ferry to Paderborn in Germany, where it will be kept in the mess hall of Alanbrooke Barracks – the station of the Fifth Battalion The Rifles.
Mr Cook commented: "I’m incredibly grateful to Kingfisher for their help – words can’t express how I feel, really."
Defence secretary Liam Fox recently informed the House of Commons around 300 additional British troops are to be sent to fight in Afghanistan to lend support to soldiers over the summer period.
