A new year and a fresh start is the way many soldiers are looking at life, with female troops set to benefit.
Research from social networking site CitySocialising found that ‘finding true love’ is the second-most popular New Year’s resolution for blokes, meaning there could be quite a bit of army dating taking place over the next 12 months.
For women, finding the love of their lives only comes fifth on their lists, which means male soldiers will have to work hard for any success this year.
Sanchita Saha, chief executive officer and founder of site, said 2010 could be a great one for military dating.
"It’s really interesting that ‘finding true love’ comes so high on the list of resolutions for men compared to women – I think it’s very sweet and should give any single girls out there real hope of finding Mr Right," she stated.
Writing for the Huffington Post, Laura Trice recently said female soldiers taking part in army dating should lay down their own ground rules before getting serious with someone.
