A group of daredevils have taken to the skies to help raise money for a charity that supports wounded British soldiers.
Kim Peachey from March in Cambridgeshire persuaded three friends – Matthew Clark, Matthew Warden and Ashley Anderson – as well as her father Mark to join her for an adrenaline-filled skydive in order to support Help for Heroes (H4H), the Wisbech Standard reports.
The stunt saw the five hurl themselves out of a plane at 10,000ft on Remembrance Day earlier this month, raising £1,500 for the charity in the process.
It was originally planned for September 11th, but this and several subsequent attempts had to be cancelled due to high winds.
However, they found the perfect conditions on November 11th and successfully completed the jump under blue skies at the North London Parachute Centre.
Ms Peachey said afterwards: "I was petrified when I first got into the plane, but in the end it was probably the second best experience of my life – after giving birth."
And it seems she may have got the bug for parachuting, as she is already planning another jump for the Royal British Legion and is considering undergoing a course so she can jump solo.
