A lot of people can find it very tricky trying to meet the right person.

For some, the thought of going to a bar or club and hooking up with the opposite sex fills them with dread and so they avoid these social situations.

However, a farmer in the US state of Idaho has hit on a novel way of getting like-minded individuals to get together.

It is called weed dating and sees people work on a field for a day in an effort to build up a connection.

Casey O'Leary, who owns the Earthly Delights Farm where it takes place, told the Daily Mail she feels guilty if individuals do not meet someone special.

Her advice for those taking part is simple: "We're all adults, so just have a good time."

It could prove to be the perfect way for shy individuals to meet, as they can bond over their mutual love of farming.
