A man from the south of England will run six marathons in just six days in a bid to raise as much money as possible for Help for Heroes.

Oli Edmonds, 25, is to take on the huge challenge which involves running a total of 156 miles in less than a week, reports the Salisbury Journal.

Mr Edmonds, of Laverstock, has chosen to take part in the Marathon Des Sables, which is held across the Sahara Desert in Africa.

"I think the toughest part will be wearing the same clothes to run six marathons in 50 degree heat, or maybe the joints," he stated.

As well as facing the challenge of covering the huge distance, competitors will have to carry equipment on their backs.

Mr Edmonds has a personal reason for choosing Help for Heroes as the charity he is running for, as both of his parents and several grandparents have served in the armed forces.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801562410-ADNFCR
