A former soldier dubbed 'The Running Man' is to take part in an endurance event in an effort to raise money for wounded troops.
Mike Buss has called the challenge the 'Snowdon 48hr' and it will see him run up and down Britain's second highest mountain as many times as he can in two days.
He is taking on the feat to generate cash for Help for Heroes and will perform the test carrying a heavy army backpack.
Mr Buss recently ran 100 marathons in 100 days on a treadmill as part of a record-breaking attempt and noted: "I've lost over a stone of weight which will affect my strength, but I am determined to crack this challenge."
As well as the Help for Heroes cause, funds collected will also be donated to Project 65 and Talking2Minds.
A clay pigeon shooting event was recently organised by the Spennymoor and District Clay Pigeon Gun Club to generate funds for soldiers injured while serving their country, the Northern Echo reported.
