A lone rat might not seem like a match for a train full of humans, but the little rodent certainly seemed to cause plenty of problems when he slipped on to a train in New York recently.
Commuter Jinais Ponnampadikkal Kader filmed almost three minutes of footage of people reacting with panic to the emergence of a rat on their Subway carriage.
One might expect living in New York to make people accustomed to the activities of rodents, but that did not stop mass distress on the carriage in question.
"Someone getting off the train was screaming 'rat on the train'. But by the time everyone realised what was happening the doors closed and the train entered the tunnel," Mr Kader explained.
It meant the rat had to remain on the train between its departure from Fulton Street station as it headed through Brooklyn on its way to Manhattan.
Many people are seen shouting and squealing in terror as the rat moves towards their part of the carriage.
