A wildlife park in China is celebrating after five extremely rare white lion cubs were born in its surroundings in recent days.
The cubs were born to a mother who is also a white lion, and the group was left for several hours after their birth to see how they got used to their environment.
It soon became apparent that the lioness would not be able to feed her cubs, so zookeepers have since stepped in to help out and ensure all mouths are fed.
In what initially seems a strange move, it has already been decided that the cubs will be given a dog surrogate to feed on in the coming weeks and months, as experts believe this gives them the best possible chance of growing to be strong and healthy.
The animals are now getting to grips with life in the Ya'an city wildlife park, which is located in south-west China.
