Julie Spira, an online dating expert, author and founder of cyberdatingexpert.com, told Canadian Living there are many similarities between the two ventures.
Anyone hunting for a new job is likely to spend time on their CV before searching high and low for exciting and suitable positions.
It is no different when it comes to looking on online dating sites for a partner, as those who are prepared to put in the hard graft will likely succeed.
There are comparisons to be drawn between being called for an interview and arranging a first date, while being unsuccessful once should not be enough to put anyone off.
"Make the kind of effort that you put into your business resume and consider your online profile your love life resume," Ms Spira stated.
