It is everyone's dream to be able to splash out on a luxury vehicle, and the owner of a £250,000 Ferrari must have thought all his Christmases had come at once when he took delivery of the supercar.

The bright yellow model from the famous Italian manufacturer was out and about in London this week, before it became embroiled in a nasty collision that has caused plenty of damage.

Onlookers were particularly shocked to see the eye-catching vehicle become the victim of a dubious manoeuvre by a policeman. The officer is said to have performed a U-turn on Edgware Road in west London that ended with him smashing into the Ferrari.

It is thought that the policeman simply failed to see the driver of the 458 Spider reversing – despite its flamboyant colour and markings – and ended up crashing into the luxury car.

A witness said: "I have been filming supercars for many years around Europe, but it's the first time I have seen an unfortunate incident like this involving the police. It has created quite a scene.

"It was an amazing combination of a supercar involved in a crash with the police."

As if things were not bad enough for the owner of the Ferrari, a video of the accident was filmed at the time and has now been uploaded to YouTube, where it has become an instant hit. It shows the police car reversing and colliding with the supercar, before taking part of its bumper clean off.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed an incident had taken place in the city on Sunday (December 8th), but said it had not made any arrests over the collision.

Reports suggest around £2,500 of damage was caused to the Ferrari in the crash, which sounds like a nasty repair bill to us, but it might be easier to stomach if you can afford a £250,000 supercar in the first place.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801671508-ADNFCR
