A politician in Milton Keynes has chosen to do all he can to support one of the UK's worthiest causes, Help for Heroes.
Iain Stewart, who represents Milton Keynes South in parliament, teamed up with local volunteers Andrea Wray and Brian Boreham to take part in the Tesco collection weekend in Bletchley, reports the Milton Keynes Citizen.
The trio stood outside the store with buckets in a bid to encourage shoppers to hand over some much-needed cash.
Mr Stewart said it was a pleasure to join Ms Wray and Mr Boreham to raise money for what he described as an extremely worthy cause.
"The number of people who made a donation is testament to how much we all value our heroes. I felt really privileged to participate in the collection weekend," he explained.
Help for Heroes uses money handed to it to support injured and wounded servicemen, enabling them to recover from health issues and get their lives back on track.
