Men need to get on the right side of their girlfriend's pals if they want to stay in a relationship.

This is because new research has found 42 per cent of ladies admitted they look for the approval of their mates.

As well as this, 12 per cent would end the courtship if their friends did not like the person, while eight per cent would give them the boot if their mother said to do so.

Published in Female First, it highlights how highly women value the opinion of their confidants and getting on their good side will make life much easier.

Some 21 per cent of those asked also admitted they feel nervous when introducing their current squeeze to their friends.

Dating expert Luke Pomaro stated: "The grounds of a healthy relationship are ultimately down to the two people directly involved in it and as long as they are happy together that should be all that matters."
