Any young men in the US who are looking for something slightly out of the ordinary for this Valentine's Day may wish to consider heading to a McDonald's restaurant.
While the fast food chain might seem an unlikely destination for a romantic meal on February 14th, one establishment in North Carolina is ready to put on a show by inviting couples for its special menu next week.
A photograph has emerged online of an advert placed at the restaurant in Southport that explains the evening will include Happy Meals being served between the hours of 18:00 and 20:00 local time, as well as a personal greeting upon arrival and the chance to enjoy waitress service.
If for no other reason, some people might like to give the evening a go just for the unusual experience of having their burger and fries delivered to the table at a McDonald's eatery.
"All you have to do is just sit back, relax and enjoy your romantic evening with your date," the advert states, with a byline revealing that live musical selections by Ron will also be adding to the atmosphere.
The person who posted the image on reddit initially seemed unsure about whether they should reveal the restaurant's whereabouts, but it has since emerged that it is for the McDonald's diner in Southport.
"Chances are this is a privately owned franchise of a McDonald's by a family and they are doing this on their own will. Keep in mind not everyone can afford to take their girlfriend to a nice restaurant and this may be something nice to do," one user commented.
Further messages posted below the video suggested that others are willing to give the night a try, while one said a night at the fast food restaurant on Valentine's Day sounds "like it would be a good laugh".
