Man robs Starbucks and only comes out with a coffee

A man in the US has become something of a laughing stock after he robbed a Starbucks and only came out with a coffee.

Phillip Sawdey turned up at a coffee shop in Alabama and demanded to be given all of the money in the cash register.

However, the brave female employee offered him a slightly different deal – a free cup of joe.

Amazingly, Mr Sawdey was won over by the offer and decided to give up on his attempt to rob the place and just had a hot beverage, the Huntsville News Wire reports.

He will be regretting that decision now though, as police still arrested him and he has been charged with robbery without accident.

I'm not sure how long he is going to get in jail, but I bet he wishes he just paid for a cup of coffee and didn't even bother trying to steal the money now.
