More than £1,000 has been raised for Help for Heroes thanks to the generosity of shoppers at a branch of Poundstretcher.
Consumers at the company's Evesham store have donated £1,052 in response to an appeal that involved selling branded Union Jack lapel badges and wristbands in support of the charity, reports the Tewkesbury Admag.
Ian Baldry, Worcestershire county coordinator, said the sum was generated in just a short period of fundraising.
"Help for Heroes are most grateful for the ongoing generosity shown by the shoppers, along with the enthusiasm of the staff," he stated.
Anyone who missed the fundraising appeal but still wants to donate some money can do so by visiting Worcestershire's Help for Heroes pages on Facebook and Twitter.
All of the money raised will be given to the charity to support its ongoing work to help injured and wounded servicemen and women once they leave the forces.
