A mother in Lancashire has decided to join the band of people who support Help for Heroes, and immediately got stuck in by completing a Hadrian's Wall trek.
Joanne Rutherford, 27, from Chipping grew up in a military family so is only too aware of how life in the services can affect relatives of soldiers, reports the Lancashire Post.
After completing her first event for the good cause, she decided she wanted to keep on helping out in any way she could.
"I can't imagine what the guys are going through over in Afghanistan, especially if they come back injured. But if I can help in the smallest way then I know I have helped and done my part," Ms Rutherford explained.
The charity's team of volunteers all over the UK are working tirelessly to raise funds that can be used to help and support injured servicemen and their families upon their return from combat zones.
