Soldiers who have been injured in action are to receive free bus travel in Wales, it has emerged.
War veterans in Wales are to benefit from the scheme, which will come into effect next year, Coach Broker News reports.
Social justice minister Carl Sargeant made the announcement in the run-up to the second national Armed Forces Day, which took place in Cardiff on Saturday June 26th.
The move is part of a number of measures being planned by the Welsh Assembly to help support returning troops and their families.
It has also set up an advisory group, which will aim to make recommendations to leading authorities in regards to how it can best help injured servicemen and women.
Last week, three soldiers – Captain Tresham Gregg, Lieutenant Sergeant Matthew Turrall and Corporal Paul Mather – were all awarded the Military Cross at a ceremony held in Buckingham Palace for showing exemplary gallantry.
