A group of servicemen, five of which are leg amputees, are set to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for charity.
There will be a team of eight – made up of six Reading-based Territorials from 7 Rifles and two seriously injured regular soldiers – taking on the rock form, Get Reading reports.
In order to prepare for the arduous challenge, they will be scaling Snowdon next weekend (November 19th).
The group of men will be try to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro – which is the highest free-standing mountain in the world at 19,361 feet – in February.
All of the money they collect will go towards Pilgrim Bandits, a charity that helps ex-servicemen and women who have been injured get their confidence and love of life back.
Typically, all of the fundraising initiatives undertaken involve taking people out their comfort zone and getting them to complete a physically and mentally draining exercise.
