An injured serviceman will take part in the 500-mile Ride of Britain to raise money for a military charity.
Craig Paterson was shot in the head while on a tour of duty of Afghanistan and was initially told he may not walk again, STV reports.
"When I woke up I couldn't move my right arm, leg and had right side paralysis. When I look back, it's amazing I'm here," he stated.
However, Mr Paterson has defied expectations and is now readying himself to complete the arduous challenge – which will be completed in just five days – on a specially-adapted bike.
It starts in Edinburgh and sees participants end up in London.
All of the money he collects will go to SSAFA Forces Help, which helps ex and current servicemen and women.
So far, Mr Paterson has raised over £2,300 for the good cause, far exceeding his initial target of £1,300.
