Hundreds of people have braved extreme conditions to raise money for soldiers injured while serving their country.
Almost 600 competitors took part in the second Endurer event, which was held on the outskirts of Sheffield and saw participants racing through muddy ravines, over hurdles and across a cold lake, the Star reports.
Money raised from the event is being donated to armed forces charity Help for Heroes (H4H) and Sheffield University lecturer Adam Dunajko was able to successfully defend the title he won last time by finishing the gruelling eight km course in 42 minutes and 17 seconds.
The fundraiser was organised by former Royal Marine Pete Pollard, whose wife Tara explained the day should generate several thousand pounds for H4H.
She said: "It was really well-supported, some competitors had come from Newcastle and down south."
The obstacles were designed by Mr Pollard and former Royal Marines colleague Simon Lane, who got inspiration for the course by visiting a facility currently used by troops.
