A group of hikers are hoping to raise in excess of £5,000 as a result of their challenge to walk 230 miles from Newmarket to North Yorkshire.
Kevin Knights is leading a team of ten people on the hike, which will be completed over 12 days and will be in aid of military charity Help for Heroes, reports the Newmarket Journal.
The group has already managed to secure more than £2,600 in donations for their gruelling trek, and they hope to double that before it takes place on Sunday (May 19th).
"We are hoping to raise a minimum of £500 per person. Our training is going well and the team is in place, but now we need more sponsors because we hope to raise £5,000," explained Mr Knights.
The walkers will be camping on each night of their journey and a support van will shadow their movements to carry their kit and supplies.
