A businesswoman has handed over a cheque for £17,000 to military charity Help for Heroes (H4H) after organising and staging a hugely successful concert.
Rosemarie Higham-Stevens arranged a gig at St Mary's Church in Banbury in September, where a host of talented musicians appeared to show off their skills, reports the Banbury Guardian.
The likes of international guitarist Raymond Burley and the Military Wives from Warminster were among those on the bill.
In excess of 600 people packed into the church, both for the top-quality music and to pay tribute to the servicemen who have passed away while fighting for Britain.
Ms Higham-Stevens said: "I have had so many wonderful letters and cards from people who said that it was the best night they have ever had. The church was absolutely packed and it was lovely to see so many people singing together."
She added the town of Banbury tends to be extremely supportive of the British military.
