A Florida teenager got more than he bargained for when he went fishing.
This is because instead of catching some fish, Tim Stroh ended up landing himself an 800-pound alligator.
The most remarkable aspect of the story is that the 19-year-old used a regular rod to snare the monster reptile.
In all, the gator was over 12 ft long, while Mr Stroh is only 6 ft 3 ins.
However, he did not let the size and weight differential put him off and bravely reeled it in, before receiving some assistance from his parents and their friend.
The Daily Mail quoted Mr Stroh as saying: "I wasn't just pulling him in with my arms, I was using my legs. It was hard. He had a lot of character and I had a lot of fun."
It seems that in this case of man versus beast there was only ever going to be one winner.
