People should look for instant chemistry when they are on a first date.
This is the opinion of relationship expert Jenni Trent Hughes, who said there is no point going out with someone more than once unless there is a spark.
Speaking to Female First, Ms Trent Hughes said that dating is much more than just a numbers game and so single individuals should be focusing on quality rather than quantity.
In terms of a dating strategy, she added: "While it shouldn't be approached with the precision of a military campaign, it deserves more respect and attention than thinking of it as a game or a gamble."
The expert, who is the author of Tough Talk Made Easy: 101 Difficult Conversations and How to Have Them, stated people should also draw experience from their previous relationships in order to make sure they know what they are after in a suitor.
