Dog’s toilet antics cause unscheduled plane landing

A dog has ended up causing a plane to make an unscheduled landing – because it seems it simply couldn't wait to go to the toilet.

The pooch relieved itself several times on the US Airways flight last week – but unfortunately did so in the aisle of the aircraft.

One of the people on the flight, Chris Law, took to Twitter to tell his followers: "So the full-sized dog that's on my flight, well it did what dogs do & went to the bathroom when it felt like it smack dab in the middle of aisle."

And he later added: "Can't make this up. The dog has now **** twice.  Plane is emergency landing cuz ppl are getting sick.  Hazmat team needs to board @USAirways".

Steve McCall was one of the people on the flight between Los Angeles and Philadelphia on May 28th, and has been talking to Inside edition about the experience.

He said that some thirty minutes after take-off, he began to smell something terrible.

"I look up the aisle way and there's a dog pooping right in the middle of the aisle," he explained.

According to the news provider, crew cleared the resulting mess up, but the smell remained an hour later according to Mr McCall, and following clean up, the animal was relieving itself again.

Some people began dry heaving and throwing up, he said. The passenger added that following the second incident, the crew used up all the plane's stock of paper towels.

The pilot came over the tannoy and told passengers: "‘Hey, we have a situation in the back, we're going to have to emergency land!'" according to McCall.

McCall also said that the owner of the animal apologised to passengers and said she wanted their addresses so she could send them Starbucks gift cards.

Chris Law, who got a personal apology for his discomfort from US Airways on Twitter, also said the flight crew was "great" during the incident in a message on the social site.
