Over £6,000 has been raised to support soldiers at a charity concert in Newtonabbey, Northern Ireland.
The event was put on at the Carnmoney Presbyterian Church to generate cash for Help for Heroes, the Newtownabbey Times reports.
It proved popular among the local community, which turned out in force to donate and watch performances from Festival Brass.
Organiser of the concert Iris McVea praised those who participated and attended, stating: "Your support is much appreciated".
"A cheque for the sum of £6,000 was handed over to Colonel Russell-Parsons for the work being done at Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham and Headley Court Rehabilitation Complex," she was quoted as saying, adding the money will be used to help those who have returned from the war in Afghanistan.
Help for Heroes has been receiving funding from a number of specially-organised events, including a recent weekend of motor racing at Donington Park, which was shown live on ITV4.
