A 20-year-old man has taken part in a bungee jump challenge in aid of hero troops.
Shaun Wilson, from Kendal, made the leap to raise money for Help for Heroes despite his fear of heights, the Westmorland Gazette reports.
The daredevil managed to generate £500 for the charity, which he described as an amazing cause.
Mr Wilson remarked: "I felt I needed to do something to help those who are risking their lives in Afghanistan and other places."
He admitted he felt like turning round and going home when he was raised up to take the leap, adding everyone on the ground looked so small from such a height.
But the sales assistant completed the dive and revealed he could not believe how high up he had been.
Former soldier David Keatley also raised £500 for the charity recently by having the Help for Heroes name and logo tattooed onto his lower back.
