Three friends have undertaken a barefoot walk in a bid to raise money to support soldiers.
James Burtonwood and Carl Nicholson, both former armed forces servicemen, were joined by Neil Cresswell for the 14.7 mile walk, which they completed to raise money for Help for Heroes, the Leigh Journal reports.
The trio came up with the idea while in the pub and are hoping to raise £1,000 for their endeavours.
They completed the trek from Lowton to Trafford Park earlier in the week and Mr Burtonwood told the news source they suffered a few injuries along the way.
"Carl ended up in hospital to have giant blood blisters drained on the bottom of his feet, Neil suffered a busted ankle and I'm covered in bruises," he remarked, adding mud, puddles and broken glass were some of the obstacles they had to contend with.
Players from Newcastle United and Middlesbrough football clubs have also been doing their bit to raise money for Help for Heroes by taking part in a charity golf tournament earlier this month.
