The Invictus Games, which are drawing ever closer, are set to take place in London this September.

It's just been announced that more than 300 Armed Forces members are set to take on roles such as being stewards and team assistants for the event, which is happening September 10th to 14th.

The occasion has been put on with help from the Ministry of Defence and The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

It will include a range of adaptive sports, and more than 400 competitors are all injured, wounded or sick service people, representing 14 different nations. The Games were launched by Prince Harry, who is of course himself a member of the Armed Forces, and has served in Afghanistan.

Some of the service people helping at the games are from the same units as competing athletes, so will be able to give their support as spectators to people they have served with.

It's also been revealed that Join, the London 2012 charity, is set to pick Games Makers to support the training of volunteers for the Invictus event.

"The support of Armed Forces personnel during the Invictus Games will help ensure the smooth running of the Invictus Games as well as provide a real boost for their fellow comrades who will be competing," commented Invictus Games Organising Committee chair, Sir Keith Mills.

"We are also thrilled that some of the Games Makers will be passing on their knowledge and expertise to our Invictus Games volunteers."

As well as coming from the Armed Forces, help with Invictus will come from SportsAid volunteers and people provided by supporters of the games, such as Jaguar Land Rover, the event's presenting partner.

Tickets for the games are currently on sale, at a price of £12.85.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801731682-ADNFCR
