Looks are still important when it comes to online dating.
This is according to Annabella Palopoli, writing in the Minaret, who observed many people – which could include single soldiers – could make decisions about whether or not to meet a person based on their profile picture.
While a "stellar personality" is also an essential requirement, individuals may make a snap decision based on what they can see.
Ms Palopoli added: "Looks are more important than personality according to the men on dating websites."
It comes after Peter Spalton, founder of thedatingdoctor.co.uk, remarked that creating an online profile can be an extremely beneficial experience.
This is because it offers people the opportunity to find out what they can bring to any prospective relationship.
And this in turn could then be used to help singletons realise what they are expecting – or looking for – from other individuals who are in a similar situation.
