A new book written by Dr Eric Braverman – entitled Younger (Sexier) You – has claimed being busy in the bedroom raises hormone levels, boosts metabolism and improves heart health, brain function and immunity.
The medical expert – currently an assistant professor of integrative medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College – suggested eating particular foods can help cure many sexual problems.
He advised peanuts can benefit arousal and coffee can enhance a flagging libido.
A healthy sex drive can aid the manufacturing of vitamin D by the skin and boosts the production of oxytocin, which helps memory and brain function, Dr Braverman added.
Former Police front man Sting recently heralded the health benefits of an active sex life when he told Harper's Bazaar that time spent between the sheets with his wife Trudie has helped keep them both fit.
