Troops from Number Seven Company of the Coldstream Guards were applauded by members of the public as they marched through Harborough town centre at the weekend.
More than 100 hundred soldiers paraded through the town as part of their 425-mile trek from Scotland to London which is raising money for the Army Benevolent Fund.
The troops are retracing the steps taken by general George Monck during the English civil war 350 years ago.
Local woman Jill Mann, whose son is a medical officer with the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards in Afghanistan, told the Harborough Mail said the turnout was nice to see.
"There was a good crowd out lining the High Street to applaud them and cheer them on … it was a good occasion in the town," she added.
Captain Ed Poynter, from the 2nd Battalion The Rifles, recently revealed he is going to walk the whole length of Hardian’s Wall to raise money for the British Limbless Ex-Service Men’s Association.
