Help for Heroes has thanked its supporters after reaching an impressive £100 million milestone since it was established in 2007.

The charity – which provides support for soldiers injured on duty – was established by Bryn and Emma Parry, who continue to run the organisation and are dedicated to its cause.

In a statement they remarked: "We are staggered, humbled and very proud indeed to be involved in a charity that has become a national phenomenon."

All the money has either been spent or is allocated to a project run by the body, but there is still a long way to go.

Mr and Mrs Parry suggested Help for Heroes supporters congratulate themselves on their impressive fundraising and remember that more still needs to be done.

"Our blokes need the very best. Our job is not done until they get it," they said.

It is vital that the support for soldiers continues for many years to come, as the young men who have been injured today will still need assistance when they reach old age, Mr and Mrs Parry added.
