An academic plans to support soldiers serving in the armed forces by focusing on the actions undertaken by some of their predecessors.
Rob Caskie is heading to Durham Cathedral on June 16th to carry out a one-off lecture, the Durham Times reports.
He will discuss the defence of Rorke's Drift, which the publication describes as one of the country's "most celebrated military actions".
Mr Caskie is stopping at the city on his lecture tour that concentrates on the Zulu wars and plans to raise funds for Help for Heroes in the process.
His feat is sponsored by financial services firm Brewin Dolphin and Nick Hood, senior independent non-executive director, said: "We hope the audience will thoroughly enjoy these talks but also that these events will increase people's awareness and knowledge of Help for Heroes."
The tour will also call at Cutlers' Hall in Sheffield, Belvoir Castle in Grantham and The Merchants' Hall in Edinburgh, along with a number of other destinations.
