A 68-year-old grandmother has stripped off in order to show her support for soldiers and to raise money for Help for Heroes.

Barbara Witts joined a host of other ladies – the eldest being 84 – who posed for a charity calendar, the Oxford Times reports.

The so-called GRANaiders Parade have already raised over £4,500 for the charity, but hope to continue to add more money to the total.

Ms Witts and others cleverly preserved their modesty with some cargo netting and army helmets, although she admits she was nervous about the challenge.

"Help for Heroes is such a fantastic charity and we all wanted to help it continue the vital help it gives our armed forces," she says.

The grandmother is already thinking of doing another photoshoot with her 12 friends to carry on showing their support for the troops.

She might like to take some tips from the Calendar Girls – who were famously pictured nude to raise funds for Leukemia Research and their story went on to be adapted into a film and play.
